macOS Gatekeeper blocks “Rustcast” - no workaround on MDM-managed devices

Description

When launching Rustcast on macOS, the application is blocked by Gatekeeper. While macOS normally offers a “Open Anyway” option, this workaround is not available on MDM-managed devices (e.g. school or corporate Macs).
As a result, Rustcast cannot be used at all in managed environments, even when users explicitly trust the application.

Steps to Reproduce

• Attempt to launch the application.
• Gatekeeper blocks the app with a warning that it cannot be verified. On an MDM-controlled device, the “Open Anyway” / “Allow Anyway” option is unavailable or disabled by policy.

Impact

This issue prevents the use of Rustcast in managed macOS environments, which is a common setup in:

• Educational institutions
• Corporate IT environments
• Organizations with security compliance requirements

Environment

• macOS 26.2
• Device managed via MDM

Suggested Fix

To resolve this issue, one of the following would be highly appreciated:

• Proper macOS code signing with an Apple Developer ID
• Notarization of the application by Apple

If you have access to the terminal, could you try running xattr -cr /Applications/RustCast.app and then opening the app?

Otherwise the recent commit should fix the issue (granted this fix works, which has been mostly adopted from halloy's scripts), i'll release a new version so that you can install it

This works indeed - I had assumed our MDM / security setting would prevent such modification :)

@necrevistonnezr , this should work with all apps, but i'll work on a fix once I have a much better version up.. RustCast could still do with a few more upgrades

It's a tiny fix, ideally no one should have to run it.. I've done my best so far to try to get it to work but its kinda annoying and I would want to work on features over something that has a solution, so for now i'll skip this. If anyone can help me out on this it would be lovely!
