I (he/him) am a postdocoral researcher at the Chair of Geoinformatics at the ๐ซ Technical University Dresden with the ๐ NFDI consortium for Earth System Scinces - ๐ NFDI4Earth. tI'm working on projects to make research in ๐บ๏ธ geography, ๐๐๐ geosciences, and ๐บ๏ธโค๏ธ๐ป GIScience more open, reproducible, and discoverable. I think about both ๐๏ธ๐ฟ data and ๐งโ๐ป software to achieve that and have a passion for ๐๏ธ metadata. I strive to adhere to ๐ Open Science principles and ๐ข advocate for open reproducible research and open scholarship.

- In the BMBF-funded projects โซ OPTIMETA and โ๏ธ KOMET we strengthen the Open Access publishing system through open citations, PIDs, and spatiotemporal metadata by developing plugins for ๐ Open Journal Systems (OJS). [PI; 2021-08 - 2025-09]
- In the DFG-funded project ๐ญ Opening Reproducible Research (o2r) we developed tools for increasing reproducibility of computational workflows in based on โจ research compendia. [2016-01 - 2022-08]
I am interested in ๐ค improving the scholarly ๐ publication and ๐ฏ communication process with new ๐ information technology โ of course with โก Open Source software! I completed my ๐งโ๐ PhD Infrastructures and Practices for Reproducible Research in Geography, Geosciences, and GIScience in 2022 in ๐จโ๐ซ Edzer Pebesma's Spatiotemporal Modelling Lab at the ๐ Institute for Geoinformatics (ifgi) at the ๐ซ University of Mรผnster. My publications, CV, memberships, and service are in my ๐ข ORCID profile. Before academia, I worked as a consultant and research software engineer at 52ยฐNorth Spatial Information Research GmbH. Because reserach doesn't work without software anymore, I was a vice chair of the German association of research software engineers (de-RSE) and am a self-identifying RSE.
I enjoy playing ๐ฅ Ultimate Frisbee โ the greatest sport ever invented by man and prioritise ๐จโ๐ฉโ๐งโ๐ง.
